Exactly 90% of participants said insurance companies and financial service firms should include the easy-to-understand information on all prospectuses and documents.
Just 10% objected to the simplification, according to the poll.
Last month, the Insured Retirement Institute issued a report that suggested that 59% of people would be more apt to discuss a variable annuity with their financial advisor if they received a short summary prospectus written in clear, everyday language.

The Optima Health network has formed a partnership with HCA Virginia Health System for much of the state.
The partnership between Virginia Beach, Va.-based Optima and the health system, based in Richmond, Va., begins July 1.
The agreement provides access for Optima Health members to all of HCA’s network, including HCA Virginia’s hospitals, surgery centers, imaging centers and employed physicians, in Central, Southwest and Northern Virginia.
“We are excited to have HCA join our network as it will strengthen our existing network of providers and facilities and allow us to offer more healthcare options for our members,“ said Michael M.

A federal appeals court in Cincinnati ruled the federal health reform law constitutional, the latest in a string of conflicting rulings regarding the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
However, a conservative judge on the three-judge panel, Jeffrey Sutton, wrote in the ruling that he believes the individual mandate is legal. The subject of most of the more than 20 federal court challenges to the law mandates that, starting in January 2014, all Americans either buy health insurance or face a fine. That provision is central to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the landmark legislation passed in March 2010.
