It’s a common scene these days, believe it or not, for many parked cars anywhere. In many cases, the situation is even made worse when the owner wasn’t able to get hold of the driver’s license plate number or no witnesses have come forward.

A recent study by a private insurance company reveals that over half of the hit-and-run accidents involve vehicles that are parked. It’s obviously a different story when it’s your car that got hit especially when the driver who did it is nowhere in sight.

NAIC group favors freeing agent commissions from health reform’s MLR

A task force in an association of state insurance commissioners has endorsed a bill in Congress that would exclude insurance agent and broker compensation from health reform‘s medical loss ratios.

The Professional Health Insurance Advisors Task Force of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) overwhelmingly supported H.R. 1206, the Professional Health Insurance Advisors Act of 2011, sponsored by Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.).

Insurance agents and brokers have seen commissions from health insurers drop by as much as 50% since the implementation of requirements under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the landmark health reform law passed in March 2010.
